Treatment of age spots

Brown spots, also called pigment spots, liver spots, age spots or lentigo are dark patches that appear with age and correspond to a build up of melanin on areas of the skin exposed to the sun (face, décolleté, hands and arms). Some people consider these patches on the skin unsightly, and in this case, laser treatment is suitable.

Recommendations before the Laser session to treat age spots

As for all laser treatments, you should avoid being tanned (naturally or sunbed), avoid self-tanning lotions, medication that causes sensitivity to light or the sun, and the application of any other products (make-up, creams) on the areas to be treated.

A local anaesthetic such as EMLA cream can be applied 1 hour before the procedure.
